Hi! I am Peter Elbourne, the founder of Hoopoe Limited.
About
With over 20 years of experience as an Aircraft Engineer working around the globe, I have learned that big ideas are nothing without proper execution. My career has allowed me to wear many different hats and understand human behaviour intimately, enabling me to work better with people and form more meaningful connections.
Hoopoe Limited was born out of my desire to build relationships that foster creativity and innovative ideas. My ultimate goal is to influence and enable change and development in both business processes and people's lives. I take pride in helping leaders outsmart their competitors, increase productivity and efficiency, and save time and money.
The name of our company was inspired by the elegant and smart Hoopoe bird. The bird was known as the emissary of Kings during the reign of Solomon, admired for its beauty and scrappy traits, and considered the smartest and wisest bird.
Coincidentally, the characteristics and features of the Hoopoe bird perfectly align with our founder’s children's names. The oldest daughter, Tiara, meaning crown, is represented by the Hoopoe bird's bright orange crest resembling a crown. Followed by this son, Matua, a name that embodies wisdom and maturity in Maori and Pasifika culture. Ava, the third child, has a Latin origin, meaning bird, and finally, Talei, meaning precious in Fijian, is nimble and strong both in personality. and in action
The cornerstone of our growth is a passion for striving for excellence and continually developing through learning. As an organisation, we continue to pursue and actively research the role of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and ESG business in a changing world.
Within our organisation, we have a research arm that aims to answer the questions of what is the balancing act of CSR and profitability and how indigenous cultures and their traditional values inform business strategies.
